MediaStar for Media Giant IPC

When IPC Media, part of the Time Warner Group, moved into their new London-based HQ – the Blue Fin Building in Southwark – they chose MediaStar to meet the AV technology needs of its 60 leading consumer titles. As a consumer publishing company, it is vital that IPC’s staff are able to keep an eye on the world as it affects their readers. After considering the various distribution options, IPC chose a Cabletime MediaStar solution.

Allen & Overy use MediaStar Evolution IPTV in new London office

MediaStar Evolution is being used by international legal practitioners, Allen and Overy LLP at their new Bishops Square building in London, the largest of its 25 facilities around the world. The system comprises 20 MediaStar Evolution Encoder Units, delivering 20 channels, including BBC 24, CNN, Bloomberg, a variety of sports and Freeview stations and internal Allen & Overy channels. Broadcasts will initially be made in the reception area of the building, and in the state-of-the-art bars, restaurants and training rooms. The system will also be used by the building’s security teams to monitor news channels in case of security alerts.

Public see rare site of nesting Falcons on BBC Big Screen via MediaStar live stream

The rare site of two Peregrine Falcons nesting atop a high rise building in the centre of Manchester was brought to passers-by via the BBC’s Big Screen technology with images streamed through Cabletime’s MediaStar Evolution.

Interest in the falcons, which were being monitored by the RSPB, became more intense with the appearance of three eggs. A camera was set-up by the BBC and links created to the Big Screen.

MediaStar delivers real-time football action at Emirates Stadium

Sir Robert McAlpine began construction of a 60,400-capacity stadium for English football club Arsenal in February 2004. Designed by HOK Sport, the venue at Ashburton Grove in north London, was at the centre of a £390 million project, opened in July 2006 and fully operational for the start of the 2006–2007 football season.

IPTV Hits Home at Rose Bowl

Renowned as an international sporting and entertainment venue, the Rose Bowl Hampshire UK successfully stages concert events with up to 35,000 attending fans and sporting matches to the enjoyment of 20,000 fans.  As part of a massive refurbishment to transform the 150 acre site into one of the best international cricket and leisure venues in the world by 2009, the Rose Bowl overhauled its IT systems to put in place a huge IP network over which to stream live cricket and other events.

Mobile media company 3 has become the first customer to implement the brand new digital signage solution from Cabletime in its Threestores. The MediaStar Evolution Digital Signage Player, launched by Cabletime last month, was originally developed to meet the requirements of 3, which will use the technology in more than twenty of its new own-stores by the end of Q1. Instore, rich mobile media content is played on a series of five displays of different sizes placed on each side of the stores.

Multiple video conferencing between two cities at ABN Amro

The Cabletime MediaStar system provides multiple video connections between the two cities, over an MCI Worldcom high capacity link. Multi-channel television and video conferencing is managed and delivered directly to the desktop allowing users to "Hot-Desk" between London and Amsterdam.
