MediaStar Evolution DVB-T and DVB-S2 LAN-Caster delivers UK Freeview and other multiplexed channels over the network by recasting digital RF or satellite signals in a one-to-many multicast to either local, national, or international audiences, bringing the potential of visual communication to every desktop, screen and display within an organisation.

MediaStar Evolution IPTV Encoders generate either a single MPEG-2 or an MPEG-4 "dual output" encoded stream to ensure best performance and minimise impact on the network. A high bit rate stream directs video to large displays where vision quality is paramount; a second lower bit rate stream is simultaneously encoded and can be directed to desktop PCs and small displays where lower resolution is acceptable.

MediaStar Evolution IPTV Endpoints render encoded MPEG-2/4 streams in both standard and high definition resolutions. Live TV can be played out, as well as PowerPoint (converted to HTML) presentations, JPEGs, and HTML pages. Designed to maximize the visual quality of digital display devices such as flat panel Plasma screens, LCDs, computer displays, and digital projectors, the MediaStar Evolution IPTV Endpoint is ideally suited for corporate, educational, sports, entertainment, banking, healthcare, transport, and any other industry application.

MediaStar Evolution Digital Signage Endpoints have a High Definition video playout ‘engine’ with up to 8 Gbytes of on-board non-volatile ‘flash’ storage to enable playout of video files in MPEG-1/2/4 formats in SD and HD resolutions, as well as showing HTML content and local S-video and Composite video input. A 100BaseT IP network interface and additional connectors allow the unit to operate in interactive customer applications with Keyboards and Mouse, IR remote controls, contact closure inputs, and RS232 controls.

MediaStar Evolution PlayList Editor controls the display of content, setting the sequence of files to play, the time of day to play them, and it facilitates marking playout positions that get ‘jumped’ to when specific ‘triggers’ are received. When multiple Endpoints are used together, a shared trigger can make multiple units start playing out together, allowing media creation that shows visual elements moving from one screen to the next. HTML windows can also be overlaid on top of video clips or a HTML based 'background'.
