MediaStar Evolution IPTV Encoders generate either a single MPEG-2 or an MPEG-4 "dual output" encoded stream to ensure best performance and minimise impact on the network. A high bit rate stream directs video to large displays where vision quality is paramount. A second lower bit rate stream is simultaneously encoded and can be directed to desktop PCs and small displays where lower resolution is acceptable.
Available as a small standalone appliance or rack mounted in a 19”chassis, the MediaStar Evolution 775 Encoder converts analogue video and audio signals to MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 digital signals and streams them over a LAN/WAN data network.
A MediaStar IPTV Decoder or software viewing application connected to the LAN/WAN can decode the data streams from the network and present video and audio for viewing at multiple remote locations.
Easily configured using a browser application or RS232 serial or USB communications, the Evolution 775 Encoder
can be installed in a ‘plug and play’ manner to deliver video and audio instantly.

Standalone vs Rack Mounted
The Evolution 775 Encoder is available as a standalone appliance unit which is ideal where space is at a premium.
The Rack Mounted Evolution 775 Encoder unit is accompanied by a 3U, 19” chassis that allows up to 9 ‘hot swappable’ Encoder blades. The chassis can also enable users to incorporate a “mix and match”
scenario that can deliver not only streaming MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video and audio from sources such as cameras
or DVD players, but also digital terrestrial TV for television channels from sources such as Sky, UK Freeview, and cable.
Any networked PC using the MediaStar Evolution desktop viewing software, or video display device such as Plasmas
and LCDs using the MediaStar Evolution IPTV Decoder can gain access to a myriad of new channels and services
offered by digital TV.
