Cabletime iPad Draw and New Product Enhancements at ISE 2012
ISE 2012 – 31 Jan - 2 Feb 2012. Following the successful launch of its Partner Programme at last year’s ISE, Cabletime, developer of the MediaStar range of IPTV distribution solutions, will be reinforcing the opportunities for resellers from the broader IT and networking channels. In addition, the company is revealing new updates to the MediaStar Evolution range of MPEG encoders, LAN-casters, Digital Media Decoders and Media Manager software.
Channel Expansion
Cabletime (booth 3D106) has expanded its distribution and reseller channel over the past 12 months and is keen to meet with further potential new partners whose customers will benefit from IPTV, digital video and HD quality products. Mike Cuckow, Sales Director EMEA & Asia Pacific at Cabletime, said: “The growth of digital content delivery across LAN/WAN and 3G networks continues apace and whilst we are maximising on this, we are still determined to broaden our channel audience. We received a great deal of interest during ISE 2011, and we expect to meet with partners from across Europe who can help us to grasp and meet the current demands.”
Solution Updates
The new family of MediaStar Evolution 780 models includes a number of enhancements, which will also be on show at ISE:
- Media Manager, the administration software at the heart of MediaStar Evolution, has been updated to enable users to assimilate multiple file types, which can now be converted within the Evolution system before being played out as superb quality video.
- With an eye on the 2012 London Olympics, Cabletime has announced a new feature that allows users to view HDTV from a terrestrial aerial across the network, providing access to high quality live action footage on a PC.
- Following the trend towards allowing remote control from a broader range of devices, Cabletime will show its new Smartphone Control Program. This delivers full control of the Evolution system through a smartphone or tablet device and will provide not just easy access to the TV and video delivery system, but even remote access from overseas, easing support and administration issues for users.
Nick Bradford, Managing Director, Cabletime, said: “Our Evolution range has undergone some major enhancements over the past year, not least of which are changes to the Media Manager. All of these serve to improve the functionality of the system, and with the new Smartphone Control Programme, we are also adding a high degree of mobility. Technology is increasingly influenced by consumer demand, and the benefits of touch screen gesture controls, popularised by the iPhone and iPad will be immeasurable in the corporate world. We look forward to seeing the responses of visitors to our stand at ISE 2012.”
The MediaStar range, which has a strong, established heritage, includes TV/AV and multimedia delivery products for use over Cat-5/UTP and IP infrastructures, providing solutions for live TV, corporate communications, multicasts, music TV, training and digital signage.
